Is your IEP DOA?
Dec 09, 2024Is your child having a difficult time in their classroom this year? Have you tried to resolve issues that teachers and school administrators bring up, but you just aren’t getting any results that actually help your child? We’ve heard many challenging stories over the years where the school team and parent are not aligned. They push back during IEP meetings and don’t follow through in the classroom with what was agreed upon. Then the school team says your child is the problem. When you know it is not.
Or maybe you just don’t think they’re learning enough in the classroom setting. Our special education teacher, Mr. Ken Sims, has said in almost every Q&A Zoom session, that the amount of time homeschooling parents or caregivers are providing – even if it is only a short amount of time per day – can be more than what their kids were getting in the classroom. And honestly it makes sense, there are usually a lot of kids, all with individualized needs and goals, and adjustments to the day happen.
So you’re thinking of homeschooling your nonspeaking or minimally speaking autistic child.
You’ve come to the right place.
Our Nonverbal Autism Homeschool Courses are:
✅ Designed for non-speaking/minimally-speaking students.
✅ Organized into weekly packages and daily lesson plans, saving you time and effort
✅ Proven curriculum, instructional videos and live support
The Autism Oasis provides a complete homeschool package that includes Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies and Art curriculum and support.
All lessons are easily adaptable for your student.
For example, my daughter has poor executive functioning skills when it comes to writing. It’s a challenge we’ve addressed with her OTs. Not only is she having to consider the academic question of how to comprehend a word, find the correct letters, and spell it - she has to connect her body to make all the right movements using a pencil, writing the letters often in small spaces.
So instead of all that pressure, I made Velcro letters and a template for the worksheets supplied in our provided workbook. This was so much easier for her to focus on the reading or spelling instead of all the demands.
We also began to use The Autism Oasis AAC program supplement and my daughter’s spelling and communication blossomed over the years. She is now very excited about learning how to spell words and using her AAC device to do so.
But don’t just take it from me. Here are two recent testimonials from parents like you who are now using our program with their student:
My son Noah is in first grade this year and we have been loving your curriculum! He has finished the reading part of the curriculum. He’s obsessed with all the sight words and is doing SO well! - Bree C.

We LOVE the Autism Oasis curriculum! Anderson has done so well with such a well-paced, customizable curriculum approach. It has been so incredible to see how his brain processes information and allowing him to learn in ways that are effective for him! Thank you for being here and helping me help my son reach his true potential. - Caitlin A.
One of the great benefits we offer is direct support for you. If you have any questions, you can contact Heather or attend the weekly live Q&A Zoom sessions. Because we know how chaotic and stressful our calendars can be, you can always submit your questions in advance and they will be addressed in the Q&A session. You can watch the replay a couple of days later at your convenience.
